My initial studies were in mechanical engineering with a specialty in automotive. I became fluent in 2D AutoCAD, blueprint reading and design, and preliminary machining both manually and CNC. Additionally, I participated in a work Co-Op with A.J. Rose Manufacturing as a design engineer.
GPA 3.7
After experiencing a taste of an engineering career, I quickly learned that a typical desk job wasn't for me. So I returned to community college where i took a vast array of classes. From human psychology to world religion, I found that my interests continued to steer me toward business. I took several more machining and blueprint design classes but focused more heavily on entrepreneurship.
GPA 3.85
I found that working with my hands in a fast-paced, full-immersion environment was right for me, therefore I enrolled in a high-performance automotive program where I graduated top of my class. In parallel, I worked in a race engine shop furthering my understanding of machining, blueprinting, and small business ownership. The owner of the shop later became my closest friend and Godfather to my son.
GPA 4.0
Education is never wasted. After leaving my career in automotive for the first time, I decided to go back to school while working in management for a textile manufacturer. Again, my focus was in entrepreneurial business. This was my first experience with online learning and I found it more difficult than in person. It took some adjustment but I still managed to graduate with honors.
GPA 4.0
After being promoted several times, upper management approached me and asked if there was any other education I would like to pursue that would benefit my career. I decided that an M.B.A., while a serious commitment, would be a value add for both my career and the company. To create symmetry in education and profession, I chose an International Business focus with a specialty in Globalization.
GPA 3.73
I recently decided to pursue my PMP certification. I am currently enrolled at UNCC in their Project Management Certificate Program to fulfill the education requirement of the PMI application process.
